Elevation Polish Lys Glacier

Who loves summer? Skeeters! Humidity! Sleepless nights lacking in air conditioning!

                   Unearthed from this crypt.

That would be me at the moment. In case it isn't glaringly obvious by now I am not a fan of summer. I'd rather live in the freezer section of ShopRite for those three months than deal with the heat, and humidity makes me more restless than the Real Housewives of New Jersey (yay for my home state). It doesn't take an astrophysicist to figure out my undead complexion burns in the sun. Not to mention the local mosquitoes give me a high Zagat rating. Fate must have a real sense of humor because I was born smack in the middle of July.

Speaking of freezers and things that are frozen, I have a glacier for you today. Elevation Polish Lys Glacier. I'd take a real iceberg with that, but technology hasn't come to the point where you can fit one of those into a 15ml bottle. The actual Lys Glacier is (where) Plus with an average heat index of 95 around here it looks really appetizing right about now.
I borrowed a whole iceberg.

Lys Glacier is a dusky lavender creme with purple microflakies that are just slightly darker. In certain lights you can see sparks of a shimmer that flashes somwhere between purple and magenta, which sets it apart from others in this color family that I already have in my hoard.

Tried another angle to capture the shimmer. My camera just wouldn't cooperate with this. It got a little on the bottle, but hardly any on my nails. In real life it's much more visible, especially in sunlight!

Brace yourself for an onslaught of spam. I got just a little obsessed with this color.

This was a prototype that can't be recreated as is, but it very well could reappear as a final version (several of them have), so keep an eyeball out. In the meantime, find plenty of other pretties at the Elevation shop and don't forget to stalk Lulu's blog!

Different Dimension Right To Vote

Because one patriotic manicure just isn't enough, is it? I wouldn't be a model citizen unless I said no, right?

This was a special edition available only during Election Day 2012. All you had to do was send Missi, the creator, proof you voted that day and enough to cover shipping, and this beauty was yours. Will there be a 2013 version? Who knows, but I sure hope so!

Right To Vote is a white crelly with tiny red and blue glitters, small white hexes (you can see them best on my ring finger), and a scattering of holo sparkle. No application issues, glitters applied smoothly with no placement needed. The holo sparkle was difficult to capture with my camera, but it's definitely visible in real life, especially outside. Kind of like 4th of July fireworks. Which, by the way, I did not go see this year because the humidity and mosquito swarms around here would have probably had me running for my air-conditioned car in a nanosecond anyway.

See the hexes? The subtle white-on-white effect is pretty awesome.

Lumina Lacquer Young Americans

This must be the fastest my nails have ever reanimated. Ever. I don't know if it's the weather or if I've been eating something miraculous without knowing it, but somehow they're back--and so am I! Which means, prepare to be picspammed real hard.

Today I have the total Americagasm I did for the 4th to show you, and I couldn't stop staring at my nails with this one. Maybe I'm easily mesmerized. This polish is so packed with glitters there's no need to fish. Here is about 1.5 dabbed coats over Illamasqua Cameo:

Look at it. It's like an American flag exploded on my nails. And that's awesome.

This was so amazing I had to do not one, but four individual nail macros just to show the variety of glitters.

I love Lumina's glitters for their complexity, and Young Americans is no exception. It's every single red, white and blue glitter you could possibly think of--hexes, circles, stars, hearts, shreds--in matte and metallic finishes (including some translucent white hexes) and then some.

You can purchase Lumina Lacquer here, and keep up with the Lumina Facebook page for updates.

So what do you think? Mesmerized? Beguiled? Tempted? Leave me some brains comments!
