Different Dimension Right To Vote

Because one patriotic manicure just isn't enough, is it? I wouldn't be a model citizen unless I said no, right?

This was a special edition available only during Election Day 2012. All you had to do was send Missi, the creator, proof you voted that day and enough to cover shipping, and this beauty was yours. Will there be a 2013 version? Who knows, but I sure hope so!

Right To Vote is a white crelly with tiny red and blue glitters, small white hexes (you can see them best on my ring finger), and a scattering of holo sparkle. No application issues, glitters applied smoothly with no placement needed. The holo sparkle was difficult to capture with my camera, but it's definitely visible in real life, especially outside. Kind of like 4th of July fireworks. Which, by the way, I did not go see this year because the humidity and mosquito swarms around here would have probably had me running for my air-conditioned car in a nanosecond anyway.

See the hexes? The subtle white-on-white effect is pretty awesome.

Lumina Lacquer Young Americans

This must be the fastest my nails have ever reanimated. Ever. I don't know if it's the weather or if I've been eating something miraculous without knowing it, but somehow they're back--and so am I! Which means, prepare to be picspammed real hard.

Today I have the total Americagasm I did for the 4th to show you, and I couldn't stop staring at my nails with this one. Maybe I'm easily mesmerized. This polish is so packed with glitters there's no need to fish. Here is about 1.5 dabbed coats over Illamasqua Cameo:

Look at it. It's like an American flag exploded on my nails. And that's awesome.

This was so amazing I had to do not one, but four individual nail macros just to show the variety of glitters.

I love Lumina's glitters for their complexity, and Young Americans is no exception. It's every single red, white and blue glitter you could possibly think of--hexes, circles, stars, hearts, shreds--in matte and metallic finishes (including some translucent white hexes) and then some.

You can purchase Lumina Lacquer here, and keep up with the Lumina Facebook page for updates.

So what do you think? Mesmerized? Beguiled? Tempted? Leave me some brains comments!

Hare Polish The Sky Was Pink

So the other night I was driving home from diving practice, nails newly bare from The Pool That No Nail Polish Has Ever Survived  (due to what must be sub-lethal chlorine levels--if I start mutating in another couple years, I'll let you know), I spotted some awesomeness on the horizon. The sky was pink. Really, really pink. Cosmic-electro-lipstick-bubble-pop-pink. Kind of like this:

So I might be exaggerating a little. But it definitely solved the dilemma of what to paint my nails with, because I went home and immediately pulled this beauty out of my drawer:

The Sky Was Pink is an electric pink jelly packed, I mean positively packed, with light and dark blue glitters and microglitters plus a blaze of hot pink shimmer. Need more picspam to prove it? Alright then:

This technically doesn't have any blue iridescence, but in the right lights, the blue glitters glow to the point that they give it a purplish cast. It's mesmerizing.

Oh that delicious macro.

Hare Polish is available through Hare's Etsy shop and Llarowe. Stalk the Hare Polish Facebook and website for updates!

NerdLacquer Lento

I said I would start this blog in March. I was positive I'd be able to start this blog in March.

..................................

It's June.

Let me explain. Back in January, my nails suffered some nasty breaks. Because they grow at about the speed of your average banana slug, I figured by they'd resurrect around March. They did only to snap again. And again. And again. These weren't just minor breaks either but deep and often painful ones that made my hands want to duck and hide when they got within ten feet of a keyboard. Then I finally found my saving grace in Nailtiques Formula II, which is basically holy water for weak nails. Somewhere, there is a choir singing hallelujahs.

As an "I'm sorry" of epic proportions, I have here for you today the mother of all apologies: NerdLacquer Lento.

Lento is a zombish-in-a-good-way, grayed-out olive with black and blue square glitters, gold and blue microglitter, and hidden pink shimmer. Yes, I did say hidden pink shimmer. Let's open the crypt, shall we?

No blog post is complete without some racy bottle porn now, is it?

Feast your eyeballs on that elusive pink shimmer. I die.

This particular polish was a limited edition that was actually sent out in packages as a gift (I got my zombie claws on one through a blog sale), but there is plenty more awesome where this came from. NerdLacquer is available through the Nerdlacquer site , Ninja Polish and Harlow & Co. All three are currently sold out, but do stalk Nerdlacquer's GooglePlus and Ninja & Harlow's FB pages for updates.
